Selling your Cooker
Disclaimer . I have NOTHING to do with Glynwed PLC / Aga Food , the manufacturers of the famous Aga / Rayburn cookers which are only available new from their authorised distributors .

photo of your cooker. We MUST know where you live - we are 10 miles SOUTH OF
CHESTER but do travel extensively so your location doesn't preclude us buying - but
maybe not for a few weeks!
What WE DON'T WANT TO BUY 300 series OIL or GAS (368 ,360,365 ) or No1,2,3, cookers from the 50's
That means the Oil Nouvelle model 368, the PJ model 360 , the Gas Nouvelle (360 balanced flue or 365 conventional flue) and all models WITHOUT a hinged lid over the hob.
Please don't offer us these - you may mail a photo & your telephone number so we can pass on the details to others in the trade

What we DO want to buy is Rayburn OF7,G7,208K, 209K, 200 GDO, 355S solid fuel ,OF22 oil,G33 mains gas or LPG, model 300k and 308K
If tops cracked, fronts chipped or damaged we will not PAY for the cooker but may remove free if a model we want it
To purchase for cash we will collect and if necessary cap off the gas pipe but really haven't time to drain down a radiator system and cap off water pipes. That can take hours!
Your cooker will be ROLLED out in one piece so have floor covering ready if a precious floor. Don't dismantle or we won't buy - Rayburns should NEVER be dismantled - only doors and hobs can be lifted off!
You have moved in and the range isn't what you want. So how do you get rid of it, and get some money to buy a new cooker? This SUMMER I need late model solid fuel central heating Rayburns with chrome top/ cast bottom lids.
We buy in many different types of Rayburn and Aga but the following gives you an IDEA of prices. These prices assume your cooker is
(a) In working order - no cracked castings on front or top or
oven wall/ roof
(b) Has reasonable enamel - no lumps missing -We may buy if this is the case but
will offer less for the cooker
(c) If a boiler is fitted it shouldn't be leaking - we have a quick test to
check this
We
DON'T want the pre 1957 versions ,one or 2 oven, that had
lift off lids (usually now lost) cream solid fuel cookers
We aren't keen on any cooker that's
converted to oil or gas from solid fuel
We LOVE nice condition SOLID FUEL cookers- especially Nouvelles with chrome
lids.
EVERYONE hates sable / dark brown and mink two tone enamel cookers so we usually fail to buy these! White cookers are also unfashionable!

Agas . We are affected by the slump in Aga oil/ gas sales and are paying a MAXIMUM of £400 for purpose built oil or gas Agas
this is what you do
Firstly find out EXACTLY what it is. My guide will help you here- and no one wants to visit to see an Aga if its a Rayburn or an Esse, Stanley or Franco Belge!
If you think I may want to buy it - see if it's like any in my "stock sections"
(a) send me a detailed description , ideally with a digital photograph .Model, size, colour, fuel type, water heating or not, truthfully its state - working, filthy, immaculate etc doesn't matter as I will see it anyway! Also YOUR LOCATION ,including postcode (so my computer can draw a map) daytime & evening numbers and e mail address.
(b) Decide what you want for it. Don't be silly - remember fuel costs and the usual business overheads. Unlike a car it doesn't drive itself away!
This is what I do
You may be offered a straight purchase. I call, remove & pay CASH ( folding money ) on the spot No iffy cheques! Rayburns are ALWAYS rolled about in one piece, Agas nearly always stripped down ( but not the ovens!) by me - so that saves you an expense.
If its a REALLY NICE COOKER that you want too much for I may sell it ON YOUR BEHALF. Firstly I need to remove it & I charge you for that.
Then I put it on my website & sell it on a commission basis
Don't despair. I have a mailing list of people waiting for cookers , sometimes they even say "colour doesn't matter ", but the price is greatly affected by colour fashion.
so get the digi camera out , photo it & email to me - I usually reply within 24 hours. I collect nationwide inc Scotland !
